Today i was driving home on the high at 68 mph with cruise control on and noticed the car started accelerating to 80 mph. i immediately hit the brake pedal and manually turned off the cruise button. the car continued to accelerate. eventually after braking and accelerating a few times, i had to turn of the ignition and pull over in the breakdown lane. i tinkered with the gas pedal to see if it was stuck but no luck. when i restarted the car, it would rev high and low (4500 rpm - 3000 rpm) without hitting the gas pedal. i called AAA and had the car towed to my local mechanic. any ideas? 2004 KIA SEDONA V6

I doubt there's anything we can say vs a hands on tech looking into this. You did the right thing IMO,
