Suddenly while running, the speed-o-meter needle drops to 0 and the mileage is not captured. The car's retardation increases. Sometimes it becomes all right in a short while, but on other occasions, the mile-o-meter displays blanks, and the engine does not respond to the accelerator. I have to go into first gear, and the car moves, but does not respond to the accelerator. After a short while it becomes ok again! Anyone experience this, or knows what the prob might be? If I had to make a guess, power, ground, or communications is being lost to a computer module that is in charge or sending vehicle speed sensor information to the instrument cluster. A good tech should be able to see what is going on as long as the problem can be duplicated. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
