ok so I have a 1975 Pontiac Trams Am with a the 400 - 5.7 v8- and for some reason whenever i turn off the engine after i gets hot it will not start again until it cools down (30min-1hr). It does not turn off when it gets hot and is already running, and it starts fine any other time but when it gets hot and then gets turned off it will not even turn over. Im pretty sure that it is an ignition problem. It has a MSD Ignition Systems ignition system in it instead of the original. Also, i mentioned to a guy at autozone and he said it may be a bad ignition coil. does this sound right to anyone, if so how can i test it to make sure thank you for the help.

I would suspect the MSD first but you can test for ground pulse arriving at the (-) side of the coil when this happens. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
