Toyota Camry jerks when idle Sign In

My 1999 Toyota Camry jerks when I'm at a stoplight, and the needle on the RPM gauge bounces up and down, even though my foot is firmly on the brake. It's been doing this for a year or two now, but lately when I turn the a/c on it's been even more "jerky." Also, the check engine light came on just today, not sure if this problem is related to that, since like I said, the "jerking" has been going on for some time. Any suggestions?

Have the computer scanned to see what trouble code is being stored. Write down the code number and let us know.

Had it checked at Autozone, not sure where the code is, but the print-out they gave me says the problem is the "Air/Fuel sensor heater circuit response." Probable causes are "open or short circuit condition" or "poor electrical connection."
Maybe P1135 is the code you mean?

Re: Toyota Camry jerks when idle Sign In

Quick look shows only one 6 cyl engine was available...........

Select the engine of your 1999 Toyota Camry:

The code "F" would be the 8th digit of VIN # as seen thru windshield,

T
