There is an abnormal sound under the steering wheel Sign In

This is a 2006 Accord. It has recently been found to have an abnormal sound under the steering wheel, and it is not regular. It has been found rarely on the freeway. It is mainly found when driving in the city road, but it is not regularity, sometimes when I was idling, sometimes when I was driving in the city, I once stopped ,listened for a while and found that the sound came from the white component and it The coupling part, as long as it moves, will have that sounds, this part is below the steering wheel, above the accelerator pedal, what should I do?THANKS!!! https://youtu.be/edCKncmsrUE

? Nice try at a video of it but loud as I could make that didn't help. Looks like a lever to an actuator door for HVAC ducts? It's intermittent apparently is going to make it harder to pin why it makes noise.
Like many things having a tech witness this is going to be the best way to figure it out and what to fix.
In the meantime see if you can make it stop by shutting off all heat/vent and A/C items to OFF and see if it goes away totally and or another setting changes it.

Mostly IDK. Any recent work on anything involving dashboard that might be some clue or a cause? Any aftermarket items installed on this? Just looking for clues the fix unknown so far,

Yes, that appears to be the mode door actuator. There are plastic gears with an electric motor inside that will make a clicking noise when the gears strip out.

It may be caused by one of the doors being jammed or it could be just a bad actuator.
They are calling it an air mix motor.
