Strange burning smell coming from a/c vents Sign In

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus (V6 24 OHV) that is emitting a strange burning rubber type of smell through my a/c vents and I don't know what to do. It does it periodically and usually after the car has heated up or has been running for a while. I was thinking that it could be a hose or electrical problem but I am not sure where to start. Any suggestions or ideas of what the problem is would be greatly appreciated.

Tough one: ?? Check cabin air filter if equipped. Evidence of rodent damage or shells of something seen under the hood?

IDK - You may have to take blower motor and cage out to see what the heck it is,

I'd check for engine oil leaks dripping onto the exhaust.
