Sienna lights confused Sign In

I have a 2010 Toyota Sienna. Recently my 2 yo was playing upfront in the driver's seat (engine off) and ever since then when the headlights are turned on, the dashboard lights turn off. Then when I turn the headlights off, the dashboard lights go on. So, when it is dark out and I have the headlights on, I cannot see the speedometer, gas level, etc. unless I turn the headlights off. I cannot figure out what he could have done to have made the lights switch like that. I've tried switching the lights in all options (auto, on, off) and have looked at the manual but am at a loss as to what to try.

Any help is appreciated!

(Oh, and I think the 2 yo will not be playing in the driver seat anymore!)

Maybe he/she had gotten hold of the instrument panel dimmer switch and turned it all the way down.

Good thinking. I forgot to mention I had played with that as well. I've turned it up and down and it is at a 5. The dashboard fully lights up when the headlights are turned off, so I know they do work.

I haven't driven with it dark in awhile with the later sun in the summer hours, but as I think about it, I wonder if the dealer could have done something at my last service call and I am just now finding out since I'm just now driving during darker hours?

Since the vehicle is a newer model and the 2010s haven't trickled into the independents yet, it's difficult to determine what may have happened there. It could be a personalization setting that got changed or it might be an electrical problem with the system. If the vehicle is still under factory warranty, you could take it to your local dealer and have them take a look.
