1996 Ford F-150
5.0 Liter V-8
4WD
120,000 miles

When I press the brakes in my truck the entire truck shakes, There is also a gentle pulsating in the brake pedal. I have experienced a pulsating when the rotors need turned and this is not nearly as severe, so i do not believe that that is the problem. The brakes are also only about 2 years old with about 20,000 miles on them. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what parts I need to replace.

If you are only feeling it when the brakes are applied, then it is brake distortion causing it. I don't recommend turning them though. they need to be replaced or the problem will come back even quicker the second time.

Unimpressed You suggested to replace the brakes but I need to know to what extent. Do you mean to replace the calipers, pads, and rotors or just replace one or two of these items. The rotors and pads are only about a year and a half old with about 15,000 miles. If the problem is most likely in the rear end please let me know. I also noticed a crack in my pad when i removed it.

You do need to determine whether it's the front or the rear causing it. I would have expected it to be the front. Once you determine which, replace the pads and rotors. You may need to use a dial indicator to determine which ones are causing the problem.
