SIMPLE PROBLEM: Brakes are dragging on my 1997 Mustang Sign In

When I'm driving the car I can hear metal rubbing, so I checked the back-right brake and the outside of the rotor is covered in rust so it can't be dragging on that side, but the inside of the rotor is smooth and covered in metal-dust, so it must be dragging on that side.

The caliper is touching the backside of the rotor, and might have 1 millimeter of wiggle room from the front.. Would pushing the caliper back .5 mm center it and stop it from rubbing or does the caliper need to be opened wider?

I don't really know anything about cars, but it seems semi-straitforward.

I just got this car and I have only drove around 500 miles on it so far, and I don't know how long this has been going on.

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure it's the caliper that it's hitting or could it be the backing plate?

I don't know exactly what the different parts are called, maybe I can take a picture.. I didn't mean that part of the caliper is touching that isn't supposed to ever make contact, its just the brake pad rubbing I think.
