Hello!

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus with just over 100,000 miles. I took it in to a car repair place today because there was some noise coming from the front of the car ... grinding and clunking. They came back with the following estimate. Do these prices seem reasonable?

Remove & replace front struts - 480.14
Front end alighment - 81.65
Remove/replace Front Sway Bar links - 196.47
Remove/replace idler pulley - 83.44
Remove/replace a/c compressor - 403.03
Evacuate & re-charge a/c system - 128.23
Remove/replace inline fuel filter - 62.89

total - 1498.12

Thanks... I want to get all of this done, but was shocked when I heard the total. Just wanted to see if this sounds reasonable/appropriate. thanks!

They are totally unrelated items. I would really be suspicious of some of it. Why A/C compressor. Was your A/C cold?

I would run from any shop that linked those items. Try another shop, all those items are not bad, they are out to burn you... just my two cents worth.

How do you know that? Have you inspected their car?
