Rear view mirror Sign In

Ok so the other day my rear view mirror fell off and so i went a bought a kit from the store that clames that it will make a strong enough seal to hold it in place i scraped off the old stuff with a razor blade and then cleaned the area i put on the product like it said and it didn't work any of any suggestion on what i should try next thanks.

I could have been an old kit the self life of some of these adhesives isn’t all that long. You could try going to an automotive glass shop and have them put it back on for you. The guys around here don’t charge all that much usually a round of coffees will do it.

well the thing is when i put it on i had to put the whole mirror on aswellbeacuse their isa metal clip that u can take out but its in their so tight i cant get it off i think theirs a pinsized screw in their but i can bairly see it

its a allen screw and you will need to remove it then work the metal base out off the mirror and just reinstall the baes always hold it for an extra minute to let the adhesive set up I have also used super glue instead of the kit

Just put the tab back on not the whole mirror. It's not that strong right away. Clean the parts with both a razor and I've had good luck with brake cleaner just a bit on a paper towel seems to make an advantage.

Also - if it's cold out give it plenty of time to be it's stronges like a day if needed.

Like Dan said the glass stores will do this for beans or some nothing and I swear the stuff they get is better stuff! T
