Hey guys, new here. Just wanted to gst some opnions on my 2014 hyundai elantra automatic. Previous mechanic said there was a " rear main seal leak" and "damp" front monitor crank seal. He said rear main seal is more important and damn front monitor crank seal can be common in new cars. I ended up taking it to a local mechanic (was cheaper than the other mechanic) Had the rear main seal replaced by them. They said it would take 5 hours but they didnt call me for like 8 hours until they closed. I asked for the previous rear main seal and they gave it to me which i wanted to look. The next day, there was dark oil leak at the exact spot... now im doubting if they messed up trying to get out the rear main seal and damaged the housing or something? I mean there is no way to check this right? I

Why are you asking us? Take it back to them and let them explain the situation. They are the ones that repaired it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
