Re: Overheating Sign In

Did it overheat before the intake gaskets where done? if not it could be just air in the system. Air locks can be tricky to get out I belive most GM's have a bleeder valve somewhere to bleed some of the air out. leave the cap off and run it after bleeding to let any excess air out.

I use a vacuum fill system, works great. It sucks down the whole system and will also give you a indication of there are any leaks. Pretty much elimiates the chances of airlock(picture below). Failing that I would gusse you might have headgasket issues would have it Chemical tested and pressure tested.

You cannot run today's cars with no thermostat. You will mess up things that you can't even comprehend.

Re: Overheating Sign In

Thanks for the info. I have done all this. And haven't had any luck. Not leaking Just getting. Hot. I was wondering, What speed should the cooling fans run at. To me, They look a little slow when watching.
And I know I forgot to mansion, I had to bypass the heater core. Until I replace it. I would think this wouldn't cause a problem from Pasted Experience. I could be wrong.
I do however find that the bottom of the radiator is at 240 And the top is about 175.

Thanks for the help.

That's basically impossible. Coolant enters at the top and cools as it passes through. It can't possible be 240 at the bottom of the radiator without the engine seizing up.
The fans don't even kick on till about 225 or higher.

Re: Overheating Sign In

Then you need to throw that laser away because the coolant didn't get heated while it was in the radiator.
