Outside Driver's Door mirror replacement info Sign In

Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to replace the driver's side outdoor mirror. Mine was smacked off by a passing car while parked. Its on a Saturn 2001 S series. The mirror is not power anything, just manual remote from inside door. Will I have to remove the inside door cover to do this? And if anyone could tell me if this is a difficult job that really needs a garage to do it.
Thank you.

Yes you have to remove the inner panel to get at the mirrors retaining bolts or the adjusting mechanism, at least on the one I did anyway (I don’t remember what year it was). Not a difficult job but it may be a bit of a stressful one when it comes to removing the door panel. They love to hide the screws and after that the “pop out clips" at times feel like you’re going to break before they “pops out”.
I don’t know your ability but you should be able to do it, just take your time and don’t get too aggressive when you want to rip the panel off and throw it across your yard. LOL

If it's just the glass you can replace just that cheap. Just broke one myself putting a full size plow truck back in the garage. Wicked tight with the plow on.

Would love to sell you something from this site but it isn't worth the shipping. Again if just glass check out www.rbinc.com for a $10 -$12 dollar replacement. If you need the housing you probably will need the dealer for parts. Hang on to your wallet if so! T
