No power to climate control, fan, or compressor clutch 2004 Buick Rendezvous V6

I just bought my car from a private party. I was told the ac had been "disconnected" by the tow company she bought it from. When the car is running there is no power in the climate control and no fans blowing. Not even the ac light comes on. This is the same for the heating. Under the hood the compressor belt is going but the compressor is not engaging. I've checked the fuses and anything I can visibly see and nothing looks disconnected. The passenger side headlight is new and it looks like they replaced the bumper. Can anyone tell me what prepares would have been made to require disconnection of the ac and how I might reconnect it. Thank you!

Did you check to see if any fuses are missing? The owner's manual should have the fuse locations and what goes in what.

I checked the ones that go to the clutch but will have to find out which ones go to the other components... Could there be an electrical wire not connected that controls all these things together?

There is no telling, but usually pulling fuses is easier. Did you ask them how they disabled the system?

You have a 3.4 or a 3.6 engine. They never made a 3.7.
Check the fuses real good in the inside fuse box. It would have to be the one that powers the control head if any. He could have taken the control head out and unplugged it but I can't see any reason for ever doing that.

The seller said the towing company disconnected it but she isn't sure why. Now that im into it this far in research I'm sure it was just a sugar coating to sell the car. It sounded like a quick fix and honestly I'm a woman who didn't know any better lol. I will be calling the company tomorrow and see if I can get to the bottom of it. I did notice some of the fuses in the inside fuse box had a copper look to the plugs... I know fuses are inexpensive thank God lol. I really have to exhaust everything before I go to a shop.

Also would the compressor clutch spin if the ac is not turned on?

The control head is the place where you control the heat/AC.

I can't figure out if you bought this from the tow company or someone who bought it from them then to you?
Seems it was possibly towed from an accident or don't know?
Otherwise the guesses are with noted parts replaced suggests an accident and some scenes will cut wires to kill a running engine depending on the scene.
Another is compressor seized before or after this and anyone just wanted it to run without compressor engaging at all ever so just pulled whatever till it quit to stop belt from just burning over compressor which wouldn't last minutes to move or use this.
An inoperable compressor (locked up) will be just a pulley if that's still good if disabled but apparently not well as heat and other controls could still have worked.
There's some lost history as to what happened so far and I'm lost with sequence of events with the towing and why,

It will not be so simple to disable the whole system -
If you are interested we can offer advice BUT
first-
I would get the vehicle SCANNED for codes- it is FREE at autozone. advance. orielys type parts stores.
IT IS FREE-
My thinking removing fuses would have a effect on other systems.
The vehicle has 2 types manual and automatic- do you know which you have?
If you are ambitious you can started checking the fuses ALL fuses dash and underhood- do not just look at them use a tester to confirm they are good.
I think there will be codes- knowing which system we cam tell exactly where tp check-
Can you us a test light or dvom?
