New intake manifold, now cannot maintain operating temp. Sign In

99 Crown Victoria, 4.6L
New, revised intake without the horrible plastic thermostat housing and alternator mount.

Just got the car back from the shop and noticed that it only reaches normal temp when idling, but the moment I start driving the gauge creeps back down to cold and stays there. If I turn on the heater the needle drops almost immediately.

I've had the same place repair many cars and they've always been honest. I've been reading up, from stuck thermostat to air in the system. I bled the radiator and topped it off so it's not that, and I know they put in a new thermostat so is there anything else it could be?

Need to take it back to the shop and have them monitor the ECT value using a scan tool to see if it jives with the gauge.

Thanks for the help, I'll try to get it in today. It's been cold and not having a heater is just awful.

I have another problem, unrelated (I think) to this........................ deleted

Additional problems should be asked in different questions. Nobody can follow one that jumps around different subjects.

Ha, seriously? "Hammer Time," even before you invaded and defaced my innoculous post I had you pegged as arrogant and petulant based on every post of yours I saw going back 5 years. It's no wonder the only regular posters are mods, your powertripping over trivialities is why no actual userbase or community exists here.

Anyway after you delete this post, ban/delete this account.
