Need Help in Solving Mystery - 2006 Ford Focus

This is insane!
Car: 2006 Ford Focus Wagon (ZXW) 2.0 Auto
Problem: Intense vibration when car is idling. This occurs both in park and when sitting at a light in drive
Severity: Things fall of dash, mirrors shake and are hard to see with, noise drives wife crazy!
OK - I know this sort of vibration on it's own is not that uncommon, and normally not tough to repair....But this is a real gremlin at work.
First thought was that it could be a cracked engine mount since they are notoriously bad on these cars. I replaced ALL THREE. While the top-left mount was severely cracked on inspection, replacement did not get rid of my shake-rattle-and-roll.
Then thought it might be transmission related. Took it to the shop - Did a full transmission service. Full oil flush and transmission filter. Shifts great now....Stil rumbles like crazy when idling.
In pain from all this I sought outside advice. Spark plug misfiring they said... "Must be". I changed all the plugs and wires. (used the high end stuff too). Fires great....Still vibrates like crazy.
Vein in temple throbbing - I take it to have it hooked up to a diagnostic computer. Printed a full report. Only one fault code noted. Bad Output Speed Sensor on the transmission. No problem. Easy to fix...replaced it (twice - first time the Ford dealer gave me the wrong one and I had to go back). Now the transmission's output speed is being sensed quite well....The shake is STILL THERE!
Does anyone have any other ideas as to how I might frustrate myself in finding the cause of this? 
The only other possible fix that I can think of right now involves a bucket of gasoline and a match.

I see where you said you've changed out the mounts, that was my 1st thought when reading your post.....
Since this is only happening at idle, do this to see if it makes a difference.
When it's idling in gear (& shaking), carefully have a helper jack the engine with a floor jack & block of wood to get the weight off the mounts. You be in the drivers seat and see if this makes any kind of difference & let us know what you find out....
Also if it's not too much trouble, pull the codes again... It's not idling too low is it????

ENGINE VIBRATION AT IDLE
FORD:2000-2011 Focus
This article supersedes TSB 10-5-11 to remove the production fix date and update the model years.
ISSUE
Some 2000-2011 Focus vehicles may exhibit an excessive engine vibration at idle, most noticeable when the transmission is engaged in reverse. This condition may be caused by small stones, road debris, ice or snow packed/lodged in the rear engine roll restrictor.
ACTION
Inspect the rear engine roll restrictor for debris and install service shield if necessary.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Inspect the rear engine roll restrictor for debris
2. Remove any debris from rear engine roll restrictor.
3. Remove the cross member-to-roll restrictor attachment bolt.
4. Install service shield. (Figure 1)
5. Install roll restrictor attachment bolt and torque to specification.
a. 2000-2007 model year vehicles - 47 N.m (35 lb-ft).
b. 2008-2011 model year vehicles - 70 N.m (52 lb-ft).

Thanks for this - Is this not the lower mount? Looks different from mine.

But I did change this.
Unless I'm missing something here...
It was definitely still rough right after changing all the mounts.
I'm not familiar with this shield....Does this go over the mount? would it matter if it was a new mount that was clean?

Well, if you changed that already, it probably isn't your problem. Rocks and stuff can get behind the part of the mount that bolts to the frame which defeats the purpose of rubber in the middle from suppressing vibrations. The addition of a shield in the picture is intended to keep the rocks and stuff from getting in behind the mount causing a reoccurence of that problem.
Did you use factory or after market mounts?

Sorry about that. What I wrote previously was that I did actually use an after market mount.
I was wondering if they were known to cause such problems? Should I malke a trip to the Ford dealer for an original part?

That depends on the problem, it may not even be a mount issue..... What happened when you jacked up the engine???

When I jacked the engine it the jack vibrated like crazy. Pretty much the same inside...More or less. It's worse some times than others. For instance when the car is cold and it's idling higher it's really bad

Eureka!
I think we can close this one guys. Let me sum it up in one simple sentence.
DON'T BUY CRAPPY CHINESE KNOCK-OFF PARTS!
I thought I'd save a few bucks and bought this aftermarket Chinese lower transmission mount. I just had a sneaking suspicion that something was off with that mount. That seems to be the one that I’ve heard is the problem-child.
I bit the bullet and bought a new one at my local Ford dealer. “Made in USA” right on the box of this one. Crawled back under and replaced it (again). Guess what? Smooth as…Well, smooth as a new Focus.
Lesson to be learned here: DON’T BY CRAPPY PARTS!
