Did anyone hear anything about those NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs? I have a 2000 dodge neon 86k miles and was considering getting them for it. I was just wondering if they're any good, if price is any indication they're $6.99
Also does anyone have any recommendations for wires, typically i just get the cheap autolite ignition wires but i'm open to suggestions if somebody feels there are better ones out there.

I go by a pretty simple rule. Whatever the factory calls for its what it gets. These cars came from the factory with these parts and I've had the best luck sticking with them. The times I've had misfire problems with new plugs was always going with a different brand than factory... About the only brand I had a problem with consistantly started with a B, but they seem to be a little better lately.....

yeah dodge wants champion in them so i'll probably just stick with that. I actually never even heard of that brand NGK before today when i was reading about it on some dodge forum. Some people over there were calling it the "holy grail" of spark plugs, but like everything you can find just as many people who disagree with that as those who agree. Some articles i read online said NGK's were mainly used on imports. I don't know about any of that so i'll just stick with champion plugs.
One thing on the wires though:
all i could find in my manual is what resistance dodge wants in each wires
in wires 1 and 4 they want 3500-4900 ohms
and in wires 2 and 3 they want 2950-4100 ohms
I was looking at advance's website and couldn't find any info about the resistance of the wires in the item description page. how can i be sure i get the right wires?

Yea there is so much stuff out there with some outrageous claims and some of these guys get a hold of it and there is no convincing them otherwise. When splitfires 1st came out it was the same thing or K&N comes to mind....lol won't even go down that road......... The one good answer I can never get to my question of "If this one part does give you 20% more hp or 10% better fuel economy by just installing it, why doesn't it come factory in the car?"
But NGK is a good brand, you see it on Japanesse imports, that & Denso
On a sidenote, there are factory iridium spark plug application & those vehicles do get iridiums back in them and yes they are expensive....
As far as your wires go, the application goes by core size & not resistance value so you aren't going to find them that way, I believe yours are 8mm but if they look it up by application you'll get the correct ones.... The resistance valve is for diagnostic purposes, but honestly that isn't the best way to test a wire......
