NEED ADVICE Sign In

Hi, I have a 2001 Ford KA, which I brought in March for £1150 from a private dealer. Last week, it failed it's MOT due to the exhaust, emisions and some corrosion within 30cm of body mountings. I had the welding done but as the guy was doing it, he said at some point over the next year I'll probably have to get the 'sill' done also. When I went to have the exhaust done, they told me that the previous owner had taken off the bit that they would connect it to and just welded another bit on so they've done the same again but said this would probably last no longer than a year. On top of this, on the advisory notes, the list includes worn brake discs, front tyres worn and an oil leak.
It has now passed the MOT but I am just questioning whether I should try to sell it on now to at least get a chunk of the money back so I can look for a new car, as I am worried that when it comes to have it's next MOT, the cost will be so high that I won't be able to afford the work and then I'll be stuck as won't be able to sell or afford a new car?
As I am rather clueless about cars, I'm not sure how much all this will be. Obviously if the car was going to be ok for a few years, then that would be fine.
I'd appreciate any advice you could give.
Thanks
