Year:2011 Make: Corsa Model: 3 door hatchback sxi Engine: 1.2 Mileage:107,000 My corsa which I’ve had for a year now has been perfect for a 10 year old car. Until it went for an MOT and had to have new breaks and springs and when it came back from the garage I noticed the car starting eating petrol and the numbers on the dashboard saying how many miles of petrol you have left goes down in seconds. The other day I drove a 60 mile round trip and my petrol supposedly went down by 160 miles. That’s 100 miles of petrol just gone!? It never went down like this before the car went for an MOT. I’ve checked the tire pressure. I’m checked under the car for leakage. I’m not using my air conditioning. The car isn’t full of people or luggage and I’m not being sat in traffic. The other day while driving down an A road at 60mph. I counted to 60 seconds and the fuel went down by 8 miles, in 60 seconds. The car doesn’t seem to be revving excessively. I can’t think of what else it could be other than something happened during the MOT to make this happen to the car.

Not sure what could have been related to a brake job. About the only thing I could think of is if a speed sensor is malfunctioning, something they could have handled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Give it another chance on another trip. Time spent for "MOT" may have used fuel without adding miles so IDK those fuel use type things are average guesses based on time running and distance accumulated. It's a feature I don't put a lot of stock in just an idea vs really knowing how much fuel you used and got what type of use out of that from known full to known full again. Anthing with partial fuel added between that will make it hard to get the real use going on as a warning of a problem you probably don't have, T
