I have an Chrysler Sebring 1996 2.5 v-6 coupe. It has 133,000 miles. I was driving yesterday and it cut off on me. It started back up one more time and that was it. I have a new battery, alternator, fuel pump, fuel regulator, starter. I put new spark plugs in under the intake only. I am getting fuel pressure. Do you think it is my distributor cap? The car has a fast crank but it has always sounded like that. It's like it has no spark to start but where do I start? I need my car for work. Please help and thank you for your time. Also, there are no vaccum leaks and I have an new air filter.

If you think you have adequate fuel pressure than test for spark at a plug - a real tester helps. If ok there try starting fluid in the throttle body and if you get a reaction or even a run for a few seconds then chase down fuel issues,

Thanks Tom. I have had a lot of fuel issues in the past with this car. I have went through 4 fuel pumps in the last year. I changed this last pump and all the wires, and it started again. It was fine for a few days and it started to act up again. I think I may have a short somewhere. Almost all of my electrical components have had to be changed. Alt, Starter, ect. When I am stuck at a light, it will idle fine for a couple of seconds to a minute, then it will start to die. I have to keep giving it gas. When I give it gas, it won't die on me. I wanted to ask. Last night, a friend pulled a coil out and put a screwdriver in it. He put it against some metal. He said I didn't get a spark. Is this a legit test for the spark?

The spark test mentioned is an old fashioned crude what to test for spark. You still need to know if it get to the plugs no just at the coil. If seen there it probably does have spark that will blink for you at a plug. Spark testers can add a load on it and see how good of a spark you are getting.

That many fuel pumps you are buying the wrong stuff or running way too low on fuel all the time which does kill them,
