After getting car back from garage after a turbo change the car failed to go over 40mph with black smoke everywhere. Returned to garage to be told AG Valve needs replaced or cleaned so went for the cleaned option. Now got my car back again and the car struggles to go up hill, very slow in low gears, and still black smoke comes out every now and again although car is going over 40mph. Please can anyone advise on my options as garage getting fed up with us and they cant seem to resolve my issue. Please can someone advise me on whats going on ?

The biz of this is all wrong. If that shop isn't equipped to do this work and diagnose it out you need another. Stuff happens but you don't give a car back to a customer like that. Garage is fed up with YOU the customer!

Are you not allowing them to use judgement on what it needs or holding them back on something pricey to fix this? Whatever you do don't leave it this way long or you'll wreck the catalytic converter and probably some other sensors needed to run properly,

Thankyou so much for ur advice it seems to be the garage dosnt know whats wrong and keep making an issue about how long it takes to do the labour due to access 3 days b4 xmas they just phoned me and said take the car and see how u get on so only used the car xmas eve and xmas day now dont want to use it. The garage said it needed a new AG valve at a further cost of £500 or they could get a second hand one fae ebay at £30 so I agreed to the second hand one as we had just paid £1000 for turbo apparantly they were sent the wrong valve so they just put our one back on that they had soaking in cleaning stuff for about a week. Am I in my right to ask for them to just take turbo out and refund my money and we will just scrap the car really dont know what to do now?

Shop may make some price settlement if you just discuss that this car isn't usable after this work. If you are serious about scrapping the whole car that's your call but shouldn't have to. Even with a blown engine if not a total mess it should be worth something. If you've really had it with this and not spending more just advertise it stating the problems known. Never know - there could be another exact car out there with damage and someone want this one if only for parts or to fix it themselves?? - T
