Have KIA 2000 SUV/ 2.0 Litre engine/ 4 cyl./ mileage: 150, 996/ Won't start, ignition will not crank,etc./ when turning key in ignition, there's absolutely no sound at all from underneath hood/ replaced battery two wks ago..but tried to jump it anyway, nothing/ with ignition in start position, dome light and all dash lights come on, when taken out of start position, key alert sounds, but nothing tries to start. Had no prior warning..just tried to start and nothing happens/Have tried starting in neutral but again nothing./ Had filled with fuel a day or so before, the "check engine" light came on after filling, but this is a common thing that happens when the gas cap isn't tightened securely after fueling and it always goes off again./ However, don't know if maybe this is associated with another problem now.

You try tapping on the starter motor while someone holds the key in the start position?
