Re: Jetta Shield Sign In

Who told you the problem was a shield?

Re: Jetta Shield Sign In

VW dealership said that there was a shield that protected the distributor and wires from getting wet and it was missing.
I tried to look this up at other places, but could not find anything. My local mechanic, sprayed some silicone sealent and it worked ok in the rain for about a month then i guess it wore off.

Re: Jetta Shield Sign In

There are 3 different 4 cylinder, gas engines available in that car
1.8
1.9
2.0
I can't tell you anything if I don't know what engine you have.
