First off, I know next to nothing about vehicles so I am going to describe my problem the best that I can.
I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty with a lil bit over 62,000 miles. It has a V6 4.0 L engine. It is 2 Wheel drive with a 4 Wheel part time option.
About a week or two ago my old battery died so I put in a new one. Ran fine for a while then all of a sudden the car would only start at times. Seems like at night mostly it would start fine but during the day, around one usually, it wouldn't. I dunno if it had anything to do with the time of day, it might have just been a coincidence. It doesn't even try to turn over, it makes no sound at all but the car does get power. Lights, radio everything works fine. Also the OBD II sensor light comes on whenever it doesn't start, but a mechanic I talked to said that light will always come on, it turns off after the car starts up. He also told me to check the starter cords to make sure that they are snug and tight, not loose. I have no clue where these cords are, he just said they are under the car and one will be thick one will be thin. I looked underneath the car and found a hose that was unattached, but my dad said that might be the A/C drain hose. Also, I noticed that when the key is turned, you can hear an almost unhearable high pitch from the battery area.

I know it's fairly new with a new battery now but the connections of the cables is a common problem. This should be top post style and they make a nice cleaner upper brush for that - looks like this...........
They have to be both cleaned up and greased after you get them good and snug. Follow the cables to the other ends of them too. Negative should go to engine block and positive to starter at its solenoid. They need to be good as well.
Remember that lights and things will work with weak connections. The starter is the lion's draw on the battery and the connections.
Neg off first and on last. Used a memory saver for pre-set, clock and other things or they will be lost with a disconnected battery,

Well on this one it would be best to start off with the basics. You may want to take the cables off and clean the cables & terminals real well. Any kind of corrosion or dirty will make a bad connection...
If all that checks out then the advise your other tech gave you is what you are going to want to do. He is referring to the cables that go down to the starter. It's on the bottom of the engine on the drivers side. I'm guessing you have 3.7 since the 4.0 isn't an option in year or make. It's no big deal until you go to buy parts...
A quick check you could try would be, when it's not starting, rap on the starter body with a hammer. If that makes it crank, more than likely you are looking at a bad starter...... After that you are going to need to check those starter wires and make sure the trigger wire (small one) is get power when the key is turned to the start position......
