Hey.. I have a 98 Plymouth neon.. Has manual locks and windows. Not really concerned with the windows but I really want to make it so that I don't have to use my key everytime to unlock the door.. I'm mostly interested in doing this for the front doors. Back doors aren't as important but wouldn't mind if it doesn't cost more.
So with that, can someone lay down a step by step for me on how I could get this done?? Is it worth it?

How do you expect non electric locks to open remotely?
If you want keyless entry, you just need to buy a car that already at least has power door locks and probably keyless entry too.

Is it worth it? That is really up to you.
Probably the easiest thing to do is to rob the parts out of a donor car that has the system. You'll have to convert to power door locks by changing the latch assemblies. Check out the Neon forums.

Change wiring harness for complete interior including all 4 doors and integrated RKE module???????????
You'd have an easier time building your own space shuttle.

From what I've read the door lock conversion is fairly simple. The key less entry can be aftermarket overlayed with the door lock conversion. The problem is finding a donor vehicle to rob the actuator, door harness, and door panel from.

So we're assuming the entire car is pre-wired for the entire circuit?

Honestly, I don't know. From reading in the neon forum the people that have done the conversion state it's prewired for power locks after the door harnesses.
I recently switched out my two front doors (originally with manual locks, mirrors, and windows) on my 1995 Neon, with doors from a 1998 Neon (Which has power windows, locks, and mirrors). I plugged the two doors in, and my power mirrors, and locks work, however the power windows don't seem to work.
I have looked under the hood, and there is no specific relay for power windows, nor in the fuse box. I am wondering, how do I get power to my window motors, the hook ups are there, just no power?

I had this done like 7 yrs ago on my Subaru. The place added a Viper alarm/starter system. They are not cheap and the bastages only gave me one remote, for my $350. There was an extra charge of $75 a door to add an actuator? I did the drivers door and back hatch only. Works great, still.

Simply buy a keyless entry kit .comes with eveything you need , including module and actuators
Heres one i've used

What ever happened to putting your key into the door lock cylinder and turning it to lock and unlock the door?

I had a kit like that when I was a little kid............. They called it an "Erector set"
If I opened a car door and saw that, I would seal it back up and walk away.............................. Talk about Mickey Mouse.

Hey, are you really frustrated with such window? Which one model are you using?
As much as I know about cars and electronics parts of it, modern cars and latest versions have that feature inbuilt.
for parts & accessories, I will recommend you link deleted............. not allowed

Thx for the replies.. especially re-tired
I'm going to look into finding a cheap keyless entry kit and just install it.. I'm not looking for anything fancy just something that works
I don't mind locking/unlocking my door manually (though i'd prefer having a keyless entry), but when i have passenger(s) they're too used to power locks and forget to lock their sides so I just wanted to see if there was a cheap solution to that.
