That is a valve cover, rocker cover, or cylinder head cover. Underneath is the valve train.

Usually what leaks are the gaskets that seal the rocker cover to the cylinder head. You have to remove the cover and replace the gaskets. It is also a good idea to replace the bolts' rubber grommets. If that one is leaking, the valve cover on the back side of the engine is probably leaking too.

Thank you very much for the information. I will print this out and do it right away. The backside valve cover is going to be tough to get to.

Smile - someone has been there before with that color. Alone not hurting anything but off you could clean it real well and paint it black if it bugs you,

I don't believe that cover is really that color. It looks like it was highlighted on some imaging software.

That's cool. Wish I could do that with pics. No matter it's a valve cover. If leaking itself and not spilled oil they come as a whole set. Yes some nuts + bolts will be hard to get at and or stuff out of the way. It's shocking how many tools "we" accumulate to get at stuff.

Whatever, if you do take this on do check that it in good shape and not cracked anywhere. Tighten to specs not like it's holding the whole car togetherWink or things will go wrong,

Sorry about the super long wait, but it wasn't the only thing wrong here. What I actually had to have done was replace both the front and the rear valve cover gaskets, the trans lines, and there is also some antifreeze leak somewhere, but I don't know where... So long story short, I finally fixed most of the problems, but it definitely needed new gaskets and trans lines. It drives smoothly and smells decent once again!
