Hyundai Accent 1999: Won't Start See Details. Sign In

Milage: 85,000~Engine: 4 Cylinder 1.5 Liter.Manual Transmission.

Problem:Car will not start, I put the key in and turn it, no noise what so ever, lights come on in the dashboard, I did attempt a jump start however this did not work, a note about the jump start is the cables were long enough so I did attach 2 pairs together, would this affect the jump start? The car has been sitting all winter, I took off the hand brake, had it in neutral, tried pushing it and nothing happened, pump the brake a few times and found it was very stiff.
Outside temperature when working on the car: 3F (-16C)
Brakes are very rusted. What can I do to make it move, and what can I do to make it start?

You don't know the year, miles or engine. Free may not be so free and plain scrap value may only be $75 if that. Do you really want to go there?

Lets think about this. Car has been sitting outside for years. Brakes are rusted out. That probably means its a rust bucket underneath. Car doesn't run. There is a reason it is sitting in the driveway, so long. The reason is that it is too expensive to fix and isn't worth fixing. Why wouldn't you want something that has no value and needs a lot of money poured into it to get it drive-able? You could buy it for $50. Make sure you get the title signed over and then give it to the scrap guy for up to $250. Smile I'd call some of the local scrappers and see what they would give you for it before going down that road. Hell, you could even have the scrap guy come to that person's house and get the car. You wouldn't have to do anything except the title work.
