Help with 96 Toyota Tacoma Cruise Control

Hey everyone, first post on this sight! I have a question about my 1996 Toyota Tacoma.
When have my cruise control on and decide to turn my lights on my cruise control will turn off. Even if my lights are already on I cannot use my cruise control.
Can someone PLEASE tell me what is going on and what I need to do to fix it. Thank you!

First guess is possible problem with multifunction switch if cruise on control is there.
Cruise should shut off with sensing brake lights or speed too low. Doubt 1996 but I believe some are now being made to quit with wipers in use and probably more as too many issues have been reported or happened using cruise in the wrong conditions,
