Help re Car Keys issue

My girlfriend lost silver blade of her key for her 2008 Peugeot Partner (it fell out of decoder holder). She still has black decoder for it. I ordered a new blade from Peugeot and put it into black holder. Thankfully it opened up van. However whilst it fits in ignition I can't get the key turned to start the van. Does the key need recoded even if I haven't changed black box only the blade or is either the key or barrel faulty. Like I say the key opens the van doors no problem. Thanks for any help you can offer

This car not sold to the US and doubt for now that matters. Assorted keys with fobs that are the remotes (if so) the blade is still cut in some way to match the lock cylinder not just cut but possible to require having it match if a chip in it as well.
High bet you could need a Peugeot dealer to get this all right again,
