We have a 2000 Dodge stratus w/ the 2.5L V6 in it. About a month ago it
began to miss out and stall sometimes, we replaced the fuel pump and
fuel filter, over the last month it has gotten worse, when you start it
it takes any where from 2 to 10 tries to get it going. If it hasn't been
driven in a few hours it will run fine til you shut it off. If it has
been driven on and off it will stall out/ chug and die anytime you let
off the gas, stop, or switch gears D/N/R... we replaced the Crank Shaft
Sensor, had the timing tested, it was reading no check engine codes or a
light, but the computer will read a CL/OL Fault code, in the fuel area, but on the dash if you click over the key a few times where the
mileage is it reads "no bus"... dodge told us this could be a computer
sensor error causing the issue. Well today on the drive home from the mech, the
check engine light came on briefly and the code was PO140. The guy at O'reilly said it
is a O2 sensor wiring code, meaning the issues is in the electrical
wiring going to the O2 sensor, causing the dying and chugging because
the wiring is not telling the O2 sensor what to do. We are trying to fix
this as it is our only car and we are looking for any advice we can
find on what exactly this issue might be... we have checked and
rechecked and dumped money into this... any advice is appreciated!

hopefully you've learned not to buy parts based on assumptions, if you plan on doing these things yourself you have plenty to learn, even the thought process applying the knowledge is important

You aren't going to be able to fix this. The "no bus" means that one of the computers has stopped communication. You're going to need some real expensive equipment to find out any more info. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

We did none of these repairs ourselves, we went to a mechanic who has worked on our cars for years. Thanks.
