Re: Help!! Sign In

Is the axle free enough to push in?

Are you trying to change just the bearing or the whole hub? You should be replacing the whole hub.

Did you remove the 4 bolts holding the Hub/Bearing assembly attached to the spindle? The hub should be replaced with the bearing and the wheel speed sensor as an assembly.

Yes the Axle is free and out of the way and yes I am replacing the whole hub....I know what needs to be done just looking to see if anyone has any tricks that have worked or any special tools that would be helpful ( besides the usual hammer and torch and what not)

Re: Help!! Sign In

If it is heavily corroded where the hub slides in it can be hell getting it free.
Have you tried a heavy slide hammer or an air hammer from the back?
