Heater Sign In

I have a 2000 Siverado, 5.3 ltr engine, 235,000 miles. My heater does not put out hot air, only luke warm on fan speed 2. If fan speed is increased, the air gets colder. Also when stopping for light or etc. the air gets cooler. Can anyone help me?

Re: Heater Sign In

How is your coolant level? If the level is good, are both heater hoses hot when the engine is at operating temperature?

Coolant level is good , one hose is hot the other hose is cold. The hot hose is the one one the front of the engine.

Re: Heater Sign In

You could have a partially clogged heater core. Try reverse flushing the heater core out with a garden hose. If your coolant is old, it might be a good idea to drain and flush the entire system out.
