2002 Chevy s 10 pick up
4.3 liter v 6
68,000 miles
Brother in law is having heat problems, he has heat, but it's stuck on coming out of the vents, it will not switch to defrost, floor , I believe it's not the blend door actuator, so what's the other thing called and where it it located ? It's really cold here in Wisconsin and he needs it fixed, so I'm helping him. Thanks again for your help

You need to look at the Mode door actuator not the blend door.
The mode actuator is mounted on the left side of the HVAC housing.
