Headlight Lenses Question Sign In

My headlight lenses on my wife’s 99 Altima are real dull & cloudy. I thought about replacing them but now I see that there are some restoration kits available. Has anybody tried anything like this? Does it really work? Here’s a couple I was looking at:

Thanks

I had to delete your links because they are not allowed.

Most of those kits will give you temporary, cosmetic improvement but won't last long at all. There are aftermarket companies that make cheaper replacements like Keystone.

I used sand paper up to 600 grit then buffed them with buffing compound. It worked great but have since sold the car, so I can't attest to the durability.

Re: Headlight Lenses Question Sign In

I've had the same issue on a car before and I used one of the kits. To tell you the truth, I can't even remember which one it was, but it *DID* work. It didn't produce a miracle, mind you, but it did help some.
You also may want to look into any self serve junk yards in your area where you can go remove the headlight assemblies yourself and pay a minimal price for them.

Good luck.

I've tried a product called "Plastic-X" with just marginal results so don't expect much from that one,
