First thought is ignition switch - test for power flow and see what others here have to say as well,

Have you made any voltage measurements in those circuits for the wipers and turn signals?

Re: Grand Caravan 98 Sign In

What was your reason for replacing it the first time? Same issues now or new ones?

Re: Grand Caravan 98 Sign In

had to replace that cause the car wouldn't stay running unless you were holding the key so I replaced it and now it stays running but I have no wipers or turn signal rather confusing

Arggh - I think you are in the right spot. Rod from lock cylinder may be the issue not staying in the correct location - from where or something broken and probably need to take a look at that and how it actuates the ignition switch,

Re: Grand Caravan 98 Sign In

that's the second locking cylinder I put it in because I thought that the cylinder might be the issue so I took it back and got another one and put that in and it was still doing the same thing so how do I look in the ignition see if that's the problem thank you so much for replies

Re: Grand Caravan 98 Sign In

I don't know why you are changing lock cylinders at all. The switch would be the only thing to suspect in that area.

Re: Grand Caravan 98 Sign In

broman: Lock cylinder and the switch are two different things. Cylinder is where you turn the key has nothing to do with the switch down the column where the actual switching takes place that is in question. If lock cylinder is new it still must move a rod down to that switch. At best it locks the wheel and buzzes or chimes when key is left in and prevents turning the switch without correct key.

If somehow that's all worn where it goes that's the issue not just another new cylinder. I've only seen that when something like a dent puller was used to smash one out like as to steal the vehicle type thing,
