Glove box Sign In

Just bought grandson a 1999 Chev Malibu. Nice car until I broke the handle off of the glove box trying to open it.Anyone tell me how to open the box and what I need to repair the latch? Thanks

I don't have access to a picture right now but you may be able to unbolt it from underneath and then maybe using a pick or needle nose pliers grab onto what left of the handle.

For parts you will have to go to the dealer or wrecking yard. I'm guessing you will probably have to replace the whole front door.........

Re: Glove box Sign In

Today I was able to insert a small screwdriver into the latch opening and open the glove box. Now if I can glue the broken part back on it might work, but I have my doubts, Am going to call all the junk yards and see whats available. Thanks for your reply.

You'd be better off replacing it. Gluing is only a temporary fix and you know it'll break at the worst possible time. It alway does Wink
