This problem is not continuos but occurs sporatically. When the problem occurs it does not appear immediately when I start the engine but after driving a mile or so with the fan on when I stop at a light a heavy gasoline odor occurs in the car. Although less frequent several times after driving for a few miles when I shut off the engine a stong gasoline smell is detected outside the car around the engine compartment. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
