Gas Tank Not Taking steady flow Sign In

In the past two weeks my 2005 Toyota Highlander started to take gas only about 50 cents at a time. I can't set it and let it go. It just takes 50 cents or so, stops and then more.

I haven't been able to get to the Dealership yet.

Can give me an idea of what it may be?

What are your thoughts?

I worked on a Ford van which was doing the same thing. About 2 and a half pound of sugar was in the filler tube.

I hope that's not yours, but I'd take the filler tube out to see what's blocking it.

You could also go under the vehicle and inspect the filler hoses to be sure they haven't collapsed. On the EVAP system check the vent tube and make sure something didn't make a nest in it. Is the check engine light on?
