GALAXY 2.3 ZETEC AUTO uk 'V' reg 145k NON START. It all began about three months ago when....... Turn key, no priming sound. Engine cranks but won't fire. Led on door flashing. Sometimes engine started and ran but Led continues to flash for about a minute. When running there seems to be a hesitation in gear selection around 10mph then a tug. Feels like a stall on a manual car. Then runs normally. Occasionally happens at high speed causing car to die momentarily and then picks up again. Had crank shaft sensor replaced. No change. Had isolator switch replaced as advised by Ford Dealership. Priming 'buzz sound now is reliable but doesn't want to fire. (Tries once or twice but now consistently fails) This started as an intermittant fault. Increasing in frequency until now not starting at all. Got to the point I need to sell this but can't bear the thought! I love this beast!! What if it's a stupid simple fix? I'll kick myself if I see it driving around after a part ex. Can anyone help me??

You need to start off by finding out what is missing when it doesn't start. Spark or fuel? You can try spray carb clean down the throttle body when it's not starting. If you can get it to run and run good with carb clean, while it's not 100% would indicate that the ign side of things are good... Considering the running problems you are also having, the fuel pressure needs to be checked with an accurate gauge............
