Fuel smell Sign In

I have a 2003 Nissan Altima, with about 160k on it, starts good, runs good, but after running, and engine is off, I get a brief smell of gas, or fuel, the is no check engine light on, and no codes in pcm. Fuel smell is on passenger side of car. Any ideas?

Re: Fuel smell Sign In

OK - Don't quit till you really find the source and know it! Avoid parking it in a closed garage for now too.
In that it runs fine with no apparent codes going to have to look at virtually everything and weak spots where fuel could leak from gas cap right on thru every hose, gasket, lines right to engine evaporative emission system as well. Doesn't take much fuel to make quite an odor.

Check around fuel filter or anywhere recent work was done.

If rusty at all really check metal lines all along with a good view from underside. Good luck, don't quit,

T
