Fuel pump 1.6 vs 1.8

i have a Vauxhall Astra 1.6i Petrol Auto. I have had to replace its fuel pump. The one I used to replace it is coming out of Vxhall Astra1.8. What is the difference fuel pump 1.6 and 1.8? What is the implications? IS it ok or not to use it?

I think you need to know what fuel pressures were for each and sorry don't have any info on this car for that. If pressure is right and still wont behave then it's time to look elsewhere,
