Frontera wont start after welding done

3.2 v6 petrol
Hi,
Had some welding done on my frontera and the idiots forgot to disconnect the battery ( a friend doing me a favour lol). Now it doesn't start, when the key turns I hear a lot of clicking from the engine bay but the engine doesn't turn over.
Anybody have any ideas as to where I start looking?

Electric (MIG) welding or oxy/acetylene? Is engine not turning at all or will it actually crank? I say if it won't even crank/turn the engine that there's more to it like battery connections, low battery power (have it charged and checked) by your description so far.
It's possible to blow computers in cars with electric welding but so far not by description,

It was a MIG welder, the battery is fully charged, and no the engine doesn't crank, just get a loud clicking noise when turning the key to start it.

Listen for where the clicking is. If starter solenoid it isn't getting proper amps o starter at fault but check the starter first either professionally or there's a small trigger wire to the solenoid and if not sure which one don't but if that makes it crank then try with key on just run position and jump it. If it starts GREAT, if not it may be some other strange problem to be found damaged perhaps even with a bench test of starter showing good I'm not convinced it puts a load enough on it.
Can you turn engine by crank bolt? Holy crap - it doesn't turn some real nasty might have happened!
Might need a hands on professional diagnosis,

Cheers Tom,
I'll check where it's coming from tomorrow (starting to get dark here). The clicking does sound like the noise you would get in old cars when the starter used to get stuck, or not engage properly (many years ago I had a clue about cars, when they were simple lol). The engine turns ok, so nothing that drastic!

Don't know any specifics on this car but with a helper CAREFULLY if solenoid is making a machine gun sound listen to it or use a listening rod to the body of it with ALL CAUTION AND UNDERSTANDING THAT CAR MIGHT START UP AND DON'T DO IT. IF CAR NEEDS TO BE HOISTED TO GET TO IT HAVE ALL DRIVE WHEELS OFF GROUND AND JACK STANDS IN PLACE AND DON'T LET METAL TOUCH ANY ELECTRICAL ANYHING
THE SOLENOID IS EITHER IN LINE ON POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE OR MORE ARE ON THE STARTER.
CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH IS THIS NOISE IS ELUSIVE TO NOT DO TRICKS AND LET A PRO FIND THE NOISE AND DIAGNOSE IT!!
