You won't have a lot to say in this process. They have a system in place that doesn't have too many variables. You're going to have to agree to their terms or try to sue Ford and that could get real expensive. I think your fighting is over.

I think here they can deduct whatever the IRS allows for a mile allowance price which isn't real impressive.

Yes you've been thru hell with this but may take some hit for the miles it did go. BTW - wasn't that a Ford Focus? Not sure but I think that's a Toyota with a Ford nameplate! Car maker's have been in bed with each other tacking on names and didn't really design the car.

What you really need is a better dealer. Good luck with an equitable settlement,

T

Agree - the whole thing has been a nightmare and a good dealer should have jumped in to help you if only to preserve their reputation which I'm sure you've lost for them.

Is there anyone to call to get fast written terms so you know? I bet if you sign what they sent you are DONE negotiating. Compensation for your time and aggravation would probably take a lawsuit and when you sign that thing bet it says that ends it and that you've agreed to it and would be out of luck even in court.

Get the terms! That's not fair to blindly sign something. Hope something can work out for you. I can't believe your only choice is another car and not money back! If that's your only choice then take it and I wouldn't blame you for putting stickers on the next car if that's what happens but the odds are it won't happen again - just a bad memory.

I don't know how much more money a Fusion is but if that fits they seem to be popular if you instantly sold it off or traded for something else but of course you lose again as even if under 100 miles on it, if in your name it's a used car.

Good luck and hope for the best. Keep us and the world as this is publicly available to view here,

My thoughts on this are that you are starting to go too far in the other direction. I'm sure they have rates for charging mileage and they probably vary with vehicle but I'm sure someone should be able to tell you what they are, not that you would have anything to say about it.

You are entitled to a buy back under the law. as far as everything else you're looking for, that would probably take a lawyer and I doubt your chances are really that good anyway. This is a mechanical problem and not something caused by anyone. If you keep pushing them, they just might decide to take their chances in court and your life is going to get much more complicated.

I would read that contract carefully and make sure you are not signing away any right to further litigation and then take their offer. You aren't the first customer to go through this and you won't be the last. If you want to try to get compensation for your time later through a law suit, you can do so. Let me tell you from experience, make sure you know what you're diving into before filing a suit against a company like that.

I would contact your state's attorney generals office and find out your rights and they may even help with the process. There may be mandatory guide lines in your state.

Your not annoying but you just might demand your way right out of a new car if you don't realize when to back off and take what they have offered. If you keep threatening legal action, they may just take you up on that.

Re: Ford is buying back my car...Need advice! Sign In

quote by js10: "I was given a phone number for someone I could contact if I had questions regarding the letter. Stupid me accidentally misplaced it and guess what, no one at Ford can give me the number of the gentleman I could call."

**************************

js - Can you even dream of finding that name and phone # or are you sure it's lost? You know these people are pros at dodging this from happening at all and my $$ is on that car companies spend a fortune on staff to go to any length to NOT let this happen. Not sure how long "Lemon Laws" have been around but there was a day when you just got strung along with what was common back when just a 12+12 warranty on a new car. Yes - just 12 months or 12,000 miles and if it blew up a nanosecond over the time or a mile over the miles you were screwed. People were outraged and hence came along the Lemon Law(s) and car companies have fought that tooth and nail and apparently still are.

Find the # if at all possible as I think that was your chance to negotiate and get more info. An oblique offer letter was on purpose no doubt and they know what they are doing by that.

IDK - get a lawyer's advice or punt? A line by my own financial advisor is "When you get to a fork in the road, take it" Hmmm - You get what I mean. Don't stop now, you've come too far. Copy everything about this from here later and post it everywhere. Put tunes to it and on YouTube or somethingCrazy

Re: Ford is buying back my car...Need advice! Sign In

Been a lot of moons js since I took Business Law in college. I think you need to verify it but the papers you have you can put a stipulation right at your signature stating "subject to negotiation" and that puts the monkey on them again - not sure I'm not a lawyer.

You do need to acknowledge the letter, I'm near certain. Send a letter back if you dare losing all that's been done stating you need clarification of terms.

This is a legal schmegal monkey game now or just accept it and go with a new car if they have beat you up enough. They threw you a legal curve ball IMO and you didn't have the bat!

Oh dear. We aren't a legal law firm site and the only time in my own life I've used a lawyer was to confirm real estate transactions - nothing more. I have no doubts they are hiding now that you don't have that number or name and will and probably win if you don't play the game.

God bless. You need current legal advice but would bet you could send back to the address I hope you have a notice that you need to clarify the details. Again this is NOT CARLAW.com and things could vary state by state.

I'm really lost now js as to what to do without this all being a waste of time but if that happens they still have to fix this car don't they?

Lost now,

Tom
