Fix or ditch - 99 Acura 3.0CL Sign In

My 99 Acura 3.0CL is having trouble shifting (automatic) and the engine has also killed on the freeway. The shifting issue is the car will get stuck between gears when it goes to shift and once it finally catches it shifts HARD. The EGR valve was just replaced and I was told the manifold sensor may be malfunctioning as well. Also it needs new timing belts (30k past due date), breaks, and there's electrical issues with both headlights. My question is, at 225k miles is this beast really worth dumping all that money into or should I start looking for a new car?

Thank you for your time! :)

It's always a gamble when you start getting into older cars with high milage. I would have the car totaly looked over and get an idea if there is anything wrong with the transmission and or engine and go from there.

A few months ago when I got it looked over they said it was in great shape. The transmition has been look at and said to be fine. (when I was having the EGR valve issues it kicked back a transmition code so they made sure to look it over to make sure it was alright before replacing parts).
I've been complimented a few times on how well of shape it's in, but that was prior to this shifting issue.

Was it acting up when you got your EGR on?.. If it's a constant thing that you can get to happen every time take a tech or service adviser for a ride to show them the problem

It actually doesn't act up if it's cold outside. I drive to work at 4:30am and it rides smooth. It's only when the weather is EXTREMELY hot that it acts up. That's why it's been so hard to fix. After I got the EGR valve replaced the weather had been on the colder side so I had 0 problems at all, but now that we're getting into summer it's surfaced again.
