Sign In I was just wondering what parts I can lubricate? and what to stay away from? I put some belt dressing on, so I don't think that is the problem. Sign In With serp belts, you don't want to put anything on them. If you are getting a noise either the belt is bad, the tensioner is loose or some kind of substance is getting on them. You can spray carb clean or water on a belt for diagnostic purposes to see if it makes the noise go away, if it does the belt is bad. There is really nothing on the engine that requires lubrication other than changing the oil that is in it.
