My locator guide says that it is mounted on the "B" pillar. The bad news is, I don't know what a "B" pillar is.Unsure

A Pillars run along the sides of the windshield...

B pillars are the next vertical support...

In other words,A pillar in front of the door,B pillar behind the door

Ahhhh. I'd never heard that terminology before. So, the ECM is mounted somewhere 'behind' the door? Some of the other engine sizes showed it to be under the driver's seat, but the 5.7 showed it to be on the B pillar. Weird. On the other hand, it IS a GM. Wink

I do not know where any of you are getting your information from, however it is incorrect!
The PCM/TCM for all 1993 G20 vans be it Diesel or Gas V-6 or V8 is inside the seat riser of the drivers seat
look under the cushion and you will see it mounted horziontally at an angle. Not in the B Pillar or under the carpet or rubber floor mat.

Hey fLgmtech

I agree, all the ones i've seen are under the drivers seat.

Just to clarify ,all our information isnt incorrect.I was merely stating what a B pillar was in answer to Loren.
I think i'm correct? Do you concur?

And your right,GM Rules!!!

Re: ECM Computer for 1993 Chevy G20 van Sign In

I did not mean that Everyone was incorrect, just the information from mitchell, however yes the A Pillar on GM is at the windshield, the B Pillar is at the back of the drivers seat, whether it is a 2 door coupe or truck or a 4 door, then the C pillar on a sedan is at the rear of the back doors for crew cabs, sedans SUV's etc.,. and finally D Pillar for the Rear Hatch back or Rear doors for Vans
or SUVps this ideology is the same for GM wiring, the engine area wiring is always a 100 series Number for grounds and the A pillar or IP area is 200 series, B Pillar 300 series and rear of vehicle is 400 series.
I like the tow hitch for towing GM's!Sly
I just hope your fog lights work.... so you can see through the dust I leave behind!Crazy

That's interesting regarding the 'pillars'... I've always heard of the A pillar, but the rest are new to me. Thanks for the info... Did you hear that the new Chevy trucks have heated tail gates?

That's so your hands don't get cold when you have to push them.Smile

They also offer cameras in the rear of the Yukon Deanali's and Acadias, so we can see those other makes and models we have left behind!Blush
