We have a 2002 Pontiac Montana.  Just before we purchased it, the dealership had installed an aftermarket accessory in which you must swipe a small, flat card near your knees in order to start the vehicle.  We asked for them to remove it, but the salesman said it was like they were giving us $400.  Anyway, there is a tone/chime that sounds when you swipe it in the area near your knees/under the steering wheel.   You then have 15-30 seconds to start the vehicle or you will need to swipe it again.  If you hold it there & hear two chimes, it enters valet mode & the next time you start the car, you do not need to swipe the small black card.  What is the name of this accessory?!  We only have one card at this point (10+ years later) and this morning we went to start the van & it did not chime, therefore we could not start it!  The flat card is on the key ring & does not open.  There may be a blown fuse but i cannot begin to research this because I cannot remember the name of this system.  Thank you so much for any advice!

It's some type of aftermarket immobilizer that i have never seen before. Your best bet is to tow it to a company that installs alarms and have them remove it.
