Re: Dipstick Sign In

If you can't dig it out with a pick or needle nose pliers, then you'll have to pull the whole dipstick tube out.

Thanks, how difficult would that be?

Re: Dipstick Sign In

It's slid down into a hole in the block with a brace usually halfway up the tube. Sometimes they slide right out and sometimes you have to wiggle it around a lot to get it out.

Re: Dipstick Sign In

Thanks, Is this something I could do in driveway and should I be prepared for a lot of oil to spill out? Also, where should I a new tube? Maybe a junkyard?

Re: Dipstick Sign In

Oil won't spill if you don't run the engine.
