Deciding which car to get... Sign In

Ok so my parents are going to let me get any car I want that is $35,000 and under for my graduation present. I've been kinda researching and I either want a nice truck or sports car I like mustangs but i'm not that into the new models except for the Shel by GT 500 but that's kinda expensive. Anyways I'de like some opinions thanks.

I don’t have any suggestions as to what to buy because I don’t know your taste in vehicles other then what you mentioned.
The best advice I could give you; is that no matter what car/truck it is, no matter you your buying it from; take it in (BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO IT) and have it inspected by the people that your parents deal with for their car repairs.
Even if it’s your Great Ante Gracie who would never knowingly sell it to you if there were problems with it; have it inspected!!!
I don’t know were you are from or what is required for ownership transfers but here in Ontario all vehicles are required to pass a safety inspection by and approved inspection station.
All that means is that on the day of inspection the vehicle passed the minimum safety requirements set out by the Ministry of Transportation. It doesn’t mean that the car is trouble free or that you won’t need to do for example, brakes within the first couple of months of driving it.
Then there are all the non-safety items that could cost you a lot of grief and money if they are not looked after.
Customers of mine that bring in vehicles they intend to purchase; at least leave knowing that there are no obvious reason not to buy it or give them some bargaining power to go back to the seller with.
As in reduce their price or have the things I’ve found repaired and then you’ll consider buying the vehicle.
Last thing I want to mention is vehicle liability insurance; check with the company that your parents deal with. Different vehicle cost more then others to insure’ I’m not sure how true this is but I’ve heard that even certain colors cost you more then others.
